Every pair of ZEAL Optics sunglasses features our Hyperion™ lenses. Hyperion™ has some of the best features of both traditional polycarbonate and glass. While it is closer to the incredible durability of polycarbonate, it also has better visual clarity. We have two version of our Hyperion™ lenses; polarized and non-polarized. Both versions exceed ANSI standards for impact resistance and the 14% Visual Light Transmission (VLT) is perfect for everyday use.
Fifteen of our frames feature our Polarized Hyperion™ Lenses. These frames include the Brody, Felicity, Epic, Re-Entry, Penny Lane, Zeta, Ridgeline, Essential, Backyard, Upside, Boundary, Insomnia, All In, Helix and Equinox. These are made from an optical grade injection molded polycarbonate blend that is durable and provides crisp and crystal clear vision. Not only do they provide enchanced color and visual clarity but the SPF polarization film cuts 99.9% of glare and filters out 100% of harmful UVA, UVB, UVC and HEV light for premium eye protection.
Two of our frames (the Snapshot and Eos) are crafted with our Non-Polarized Hyperion™ Lenses. Why non-polarized?, you may ask. Well these aren’t your average run-of-the-mill non-polarized lenses. They are made from an optical grade injection molded decentered (meaning it reduces disortion in your peripheral vision) polycarbonate lens. A specially formulated resin enhances color and blocks High Energy Visible (HEV) light by 95%. HEV Light has recently been implicated in Advanced Mascular Degerneration and cataracts at a young age. This HEV blocking resin fights off this bad light as well as 100% of UVA, UVB and UVC to make sure your eyes are fully protected. No other non-polarized lens on the market offers this technology and protection. And with all of that, they’re also a little easier on your pocketbook!
