"As you know, I am a ski racer and have now used the Zeal polarized photochromatic goggles during race training and also the first race of the season.

The training conditions on the first day were cloudy and windy with flat light. The polarized photochromatic lenses provided me with contrast even better than without any goggles or glasses - which is very unusual and something Id never experienced before. The second day was sunny and bright. I usually use a gray or rose goggle in these conditions as it reduces the glare of the sun off the snow and made it easier to see without squinting. I used the Zeal polarized photochromatic lens and was amazed at the reduction in glare and how easy they were on my eyes!

The first race of the season was at Keystone on Saturday Dec. 20. The day was very cold, windy, and snowing. The race course was actually in the clouds near the top of the mountain. It was some of the very worst white-out conditions Id ever experienced on a race course. Usually, you can easily see at least 3 to 6 gates ahead of you. The white-out conditions were so bad that seeing two gates in front of you was at times difficult and without the Zeal goggles, the light was so flat that it was nearly impossible to see any ruts, snow berms, or see any contrasting snow features to help during the race. When I donned the Zeal polarized photochromatic goggles, to my surprise I could actually see the ruts and the contrasting features in the snow much more easily with them than without them.

Before I used your goggles, when flat light conditions existed, I would usually either ski without goggles or use a clear lens. Neither was satisfactory since in flat light, the ruts and rolls of a race course are nearly impossible to see. To say Im happy with the performance and visual enhancement provided by the Zeal polarized photochromatic goggle would be an understatement. Ive recommended them to several of my team members."

"These lenses are a pleasure on the eyes. The worlds first and somehow, still, only Polarized and Photochromatic lens. Polarized cuts out glare of sun and snow, photochromatic transitions from light to dark depending on UV intake. The rose/gray colored lens is great at bringing out definition of every bump and variation on the hill. The PPX lens is awesome because you never have to change them out, they’re the exact lens you need, 90% of the time. The other 10%, get a clear lens because its too dark to see anything. The Link model has a little scoop under each eye that brings in fresh air and makes them impossible to fog and the polycarbonate lens show little wear or scrathes after 50 days despite heavy tree skiing to try and find freshies around Front Range resorts. I got PPX lens last season after the SPX had already sold out. Difference- PPX is flat, SPX is Spherical. Spherical better matches the natural curve of the eye, brings in light more naturally and creates less eye fatigue. Ive never felt eye fatigue with the PPX lens!"
