Zeal Optics' frames and Ellume Polarized lenses are made from Z-Resin, a plant-based material derived from the castor plant (Z-Lite/Z-Resin frames contain a minimum of 45% bio-resin). We process the castor beans into our proprietary Z-Resin material which replaces petroleum-based plastics in our sunglasses. By replacing traditional plastics with Z-Resin, we significantly reduce the amount of CO2 produced during our manufacturing. This is part of our mission to create sunglasses that enhance your time outdoors while working to protect the world around us.

This process eliminates color confusion, allowing you to see the world’s natural colors with greater clarity and contrast with Ellume Polarized.
Z-Resin
All Zeal Optics frames are made from Z-Resin, a unique plant-based polymer derived from the castor plant. This durable plant-based material contributes to a lighter weight frame, for more comfortable everyday wear and activities.
Z-Lite
LIGHTER. STRONGER.FURTHER. Z-lite combines our Z-Resin material, which includes a minimum of 45% bio-resin, with a thin injection process, creating an ultra-lightweight, durable frame, weighing in at less than an ounce including the lenses, for performance and style
