Plastic Bottles + Grass Fiber + Bio Gas = Sunglasses Reimagined.
Zeal Optics See Grass frames combines 70% recycled plastics and 30% grass fibers to create our most sustainable sunglasses yet. Made from ‘true grasses’, which are agricultural waste fibers including hemp, flax, rice and straw, this fibrous base is combined with recycled plastics to reuse waste material and keep it out of landfills. See Grass frames allow us to partner with multiple organizations including farmers, manufacturers and waste managers that are focused on finding alternative uses for what was previously considered trash.
Reuse. Regrow. Reimagine.
Zeal Optics See Grass is produced at a unique closed-loop German biorefinery, where the fibrous grasses are grown, and mixed with pre-consumer recycled plastics from healthcare, pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications. The process is powered by a methane turbine that runs on decomposing organic matter, and in turn creates fertilizer to grow the grasses, without generating any waste products or water.
Reflected light and UV exposure can cause glare, eye fatigue, and sensitivity, all of which disrupt your view of the world around you. All Zeal lenses are polarized and eliminate 99.9% of glare and block 100% of harmful UVA/B/C rays, protecting your eyes against the risk of long-term damage from the sun’s harsh rays.
STYLE & SUSTAINABILITY
"I am so stoked on these new sunglasses from Zeal. They always crush it on the sustainability game, but this line takes it to the next level! I love how they are keeping the environment in mind, but they don’t compromise durability or style. Great job Zeal!"
