Meet Epic Experience
I have always been attracted to the outdoors and that has only grown since my career change four years ago. I had worked for a large corporation after attending college in Denver, CO at Regis University. My job at the time had me working for a great company but I knew that I wanted a career in which I felt I was giving back to the world. That is when I decided to take the plunge and go work with my Mom, Nancy Ferro at Epic Experience.
Epic Experience offers free week long adventure camps to adult cancer survivors to provide them with the tools that will allow them to move beyond the three words, “I have cancer.” We bring adult cancer thrivers from around the country and even extending to Canada in some instances to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We provide summer camps that include hiking, horseback riding, fishing, and white water inflatable kayaking. Our winter programs include such things as cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and sledding. I love being able to share my love for the outdoors with cancer survivors. Once you are faced with cancer, your life is put into perspective just as mine was when my brother Michael was diagnosed with testicular cancer back in 2007. Cancer is a journey not only for the patient but also those that are caregiving for them. Helping others get outdoors is what I love about my career, it is not about being first or the fastest but about the ability to say, “I did it!”
"Zeal Optics supports the outdoor lifestyle that myself and my non profit Epic Experience are all about. Life is about collecting memories. Life is perspective, make yours memorable."
